Stony Rapids

Stony Rapids - Saskatoon

The long journey home begins. Kept waking up all night, excited at the prospect of going home even though our three days in Stony Rapids have been both relaxing and entertaining. They have been a good buffer between the rigours of the trip and returning to the “outside”.

I felt a bit sad saying good bye to Heather and Pete, they have shown us exceptional hospitality and been great company. Check in was very relaxed as the clerk was more interested in our trip than anything else. We got to choose our own seats so we both had a window, unfortunately we didn’t fly over the country we paddled through but it was amazing to see the maze of lakes and rivers.

Klaus and Chris met us at Saskatoon and we had a great afternoon and evening telling them about our trip. Fittingly we had John Albrecht’s recipe for jack fish and it was delicious. Bed after 10pm.
