Day 42

Confluence of Fond Du Lac and Black Lac

Distance – Wind Bound, 0 km

We remain wind bound. The day started warm and sunny despite the wind and white caps on the lake however by lunch time the wind had really cranked up and is now blowing non-stop, strong and bitterly cold. There is no hope of moving in conditions like this. The conditions forced us to spend most of the afternoon in the tent. We have started talking of the possibility of paddling at night to avoid the wind but we would need to be sure that it was going to remain still for at least six hours, the time necessary to get to the Black Lake community.
